The Chili Open is not primarily a source of outside funding. It is a vehicle for the charities to use for raising funds.
As in the past, in order to participate in the Chili Open a charity must commit to the following
1. Must raise of have a commitment signed by sponsor(s) for at least $5,000.00 by October 1,2011. (This money is not a come from the charity itself).
2. Must provide its financial profile (Financial Statements) or latest government filing to the Sugar House Rotary Club prior to August 1, 2011. For Financial Statements a summary will be accepted provided that is clearly portrays the money received by the charity and how it is used ( programs, administrations & fundraising). The Financial Statements are to be signed by someone with authority to do so.
3. To qualify as Chili Open Funds for purposes of allocation of other funds all monies must be made payable to: The Chili Open, the Chili Open for (charity name), or The Chili Open & (charity name).
4. Must provide the fund raising resources and the volunteers both prior to the event and at the event to ensure the success of the Chili Open. Also, each charity will be expected to provide a special basket or similar items to be given at the dinner.
5. To continue to receive the cooperation of all charities, no charity shall contact or solicit a previous sponsor of another charity.
6. The Charity agrees to arrange for its board members or other qualified bidders to attend the dinner auction at the Grand America Hotel on the evening of the event.
In selecting Charities to participate in the Chili Open preference will be given to local charities who are primarily not government funded and who have the capability of raising significant funds using this event.
